Principle 8: Creating a Common Language

Developing non-verbal and nonviolent communication

Examples:
Amalia asked Guy how did they communicate with the other children without a common language. Guy replied that we didn’t speak the same language but we understood one another.

Explanation:
In our preparations all the children practiced the same movements, wrote poems on the same themes, and studied the same ancient mythology.  This created a common ground to then have a shared experience. Placing 200 children together that speak eight languages forces you to emphasize new ways to focus and communicate that transcend the limits of the word.
